British Ebola patient William Pooley has said he feels “wonderfully lucky” to have survived

A BRITISH man infected with the deadly Ebola virus has been released from a London hospital after making a full recovery.

He spoke to reporters shortly after it was announced that he was to be discharged after being evacuated from Sierra Leone by military jet on 24th August.

Appearing relaxed and happy, he said that he had “high temperatures at times” but that his “symptoms never progressed to the worst stages of the disease”.

He also thanked staff at the Royal Free Hospital in north London for the “world-class care” he received, but said being treated in the isolation wing was “a little like being in a fish
